Serena Williams beats Venus to clinch Australian Open title
Melbourne, Jan 28 (IBNS): In a lash between two sisters, Serena Williams powered her way to clinched the Australian Open women's doubles title by beating Venus Williams in the final here on Saturday.
Serena defeated her opponent 6-4 6-4.
The grand slam victory ensured Serena her 23rd Grand Slam singles title victory.
Creating history, she passed former player Steffi Graf in the all-time list of major winners since the Grand Slams accepted professional players in 1968.
She also regained her number one ranking.
