Shane Watson clinches Australia's T20I Player of the Year award

Melbourne, Jan 23 (IBNS): Former Australian batsman Shane Watson, who had showed his talen both with his bowling and batting skills, has received Cricket Australia‘s (CA) T20 International Player of the Year at the Allan Border medal ceremony.

He had announced his retirement from cricket last year.

"But the former Test all-rounder made a return to the spotlight at tonight’s Crown Lager Allan Border Medal presentation when he was named Australia’s T20 International Player of the Year," read the Cricket Australia website.

The Australian second-highest runs scorer in the voting period – Jan 8 2016 to Jan 7 this year – behind fellow all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.

"I’m certainly enjoying a different life now playing T20 cricket around the world," Watson was quoted as saying by the website.
