Sourav Ganguly expresses desire to become Team India coach

Kolkata, Aug 3 (IBNS): Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, who helped the national team to reach a different height, has expressed his desire to become the coach of Virat Kohli and his men.

Ganguly said he wants to coach the Indian team but not at this point of time as he is too busy with Indian Premier League (IPL), Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and TV commentary.

The former skipper is the present president of CAB and also an advisor to IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will be picking a new coach for the Indian team soon as several former cricketers have applied for the top job. However, current coach Ravi Shastri is expected to be retained as the coach.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has also hinted at his team's weight behind Shastri if their opinion is asked for.

Last time, the CAC comprising Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman had picked Shastri as the coach at a very last moment.
