Sourav Ganguly says this after India seal final berth in T20 World Cup 2024
Kolkata/IBNS: Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has heaped praise on the men-in-blue after the national side sealed a berth in the T20 World Cup 2024 final defeating England in the semi-final contest on Thursday.
Ganguly said in an Instagram post, "Congratulations to team India on reaching the World Cup final .. fantastic effort by the team on a difficult pitch .. second World Cup final for captain Rohit sharma and his team in a span of 7 months and that too unbeaten again .. see you Saturday nite .."
India reach T20 World Cup 2024 final
Riding on a strong performance on skipper Rohit Sharma (57) and a strong performance of spinner, India defeated England by 68 runs to reach the final of the T20 World Cup on Thursday.
England put India to bat first after winning the toss in a rain-hit match.
Rohit Sharma smashed 57 runs as led from the front and Suryakumar Yadav contributed 47 runs with his willow as India posted 171 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their quota of 20 overs.
Following a reliable batting display, the Indian bowlers came into action and Axar Patel (3/23) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/19) finished the task as the current champions were bowled out for 103 runs.

India's dependable fast bowling star Jasprit Bumrah gave early blows by picking up the wickets of Phil Salt (5) after Axar Patel gave the first blow to the champions by dismissing set skipper Jos Buttler (23).
Patel went on to take two more wickets of Moen Ali (8) and Jonny Bairstow (0).
Harry Brook (25) and Jofra Archer (21) tried to put up some resistance against India.
Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Brook and Bumrah ended the run of Archer to shatter England's hope of reaching another final.
India will now face South Africa in the final on Saturday.
