U-17 World Cup: Kolkata lash between Brazil-Mali breaks spectators record

Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): Kolkata set another record on Saturday during the third-fourth position clash between Brazil and Mali as the 2017 Under-17 World Cup became the most attended edition of the tournament.

The total number of spectators attending the six venue during this edition of the tournament surpassed previous record that was created during the inaugural edition in China (1985).

The 1985 edition of the tournament was attended by  1,230,976 people.

With 56432 spectators attending the clash at  Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday, the record is now set at 1280459.
