Virat Kohli surpasses Lionel Messi in brand value

Mumbai, Oct 26 (IBNS): According to the new Forbes Fab 40 list, Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli, has overtaken football icon Lionel Messi in terms of brand value, media reports said.

According to the new list, Kohli is in seventh position with a value of USD 14.5 million.

Kohli is just behind golfer Tiger Woods who is worth USD 16.6 million.

The list is topped by tennis icon from Switzerland, Roger Federer, with a value of USD 37.2 million.

Federer is succeeded by Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, Usain Bolt, Cristiano Ronaldo and Phil Mickleson.

Kohli, who became the full time captain of the national side in 2017, is on a dream run as the skipper of the side.

Under his leadership, India had reached the Champions Trophy final this year till they were outclassed by an all-round performance by Pakistan.
