We are not distracted by off-field controversies: Kohli
"I can assure you that we haven't been distracted by what has happened away from the field," Kohli said while addressing a press conference ahead of his side's upcoming tour to Australia.
He said India has a good chance of beating Australia in their home turf.
Kohli said that it is an advantage for any skipper to have bowlers who can bowl over 140 kmph on Australian pitches.
Kohli said: "When you have four bowlers who can bowl 140 plus, it is a huge advantage."
The young Indian skipper, under whose leadership the country won the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka 5-0, will lead the nation in the first Test in Brisbane.
Regular skipper MS Dhoni has been ruled out due to injury.
Meanwhile, after being given a clean chit by justice Mukul Mudgal panel report in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) match-fixing or betting scandal, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President-in-exile Narayanswamy Srinivasan on Friday requested the Supreme Court to reinstate him to his former post.
Srinivasan has filed an affidavit requesting the apex court to allow his return to the BCCI top post.
Earlier in the day, the BCCI also filed an affidavit in the court stating that it is incorrect to say Srinivasan and four others did not act despite knowing about a player violating code of conduct, said reports.
This was mentioned in the final report submitted by the Mudgal committee.
This comes after Srinivasan got a fresh lease of life on Monday Mudgal panel report stated that he was not directly involved in any match-fixing or betting scandal or tried to put spanner in a probe into IPL.
The report though said, he knew about the scam but did not try to stop it.
