Will try to extend EPL Partnership to I-League: Patel

New Delhi, June 24 (IBNS) A day after the Indian Super League entered into a strategic partnership with the English Premier League, All India Football Federation President Praful Patel has declared that he would want to take it further ahead for the future development of Indian Football.

In his Official Twitter handle @prafulpatel_, the AIFF President wrote: “The partnership between the English Premier League and the Indian Super League is a good beginning. We will try to extend it to I-League too.”

“The AIFF is extremely pleased to be a part of the strategic partnership with the EPL,” he told www.the-aiff.com.

Patel’s tweet comes at a time when the I-League is being revolutionized with lavish praise coming in from the Asian Football Confederation over the implementation of the Indian Club Licensing system which the parent body feels is the ‘best tool to professionalise Football in the Country.’

Furthermore, with quite a few corporates willing to follow in the footsteps of Bengaluru FC and venture into the I-League as new Clubs, the League has also seen a massive rise in attendance figures and popularity in the last edition.
