Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma get maiden Team India call-up for WI T20I series

Mumbai/UNI: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma on Wednesday received maiden call-ups for the 5-match T20I series against the West Indies in August.

However, young batsman Rinku Singh missed an entry to the national side which will be captained by Hardik Pandya with Suryakumar Yadav as his deputy.

The squad was announced a day after the appointment of Ajit Agarkar as Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The series would be played in the West Indies and Florida, USA.

Meanwhile, senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma continue to miss out on T20Is.

India’s T20I squad: Ishan Kishan (wk), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Surya Kumar Yadav (VC), Sanju Samson (wk), Hardik Pandya (C), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.

5-match T20I series, August 4 to August 8

1st T20I: August 4, Trinidad
2nd T20I: August 6, Guyana
3rd T20I: August 8, Guyana
4th T20I: August 12, Florida
5th T20I: August 13, Florida.
