Adani Ports bags 5-year O&M contract of container facility in Kolkata's Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port

New Delhi/IBNS: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) announced that it has received the letter of intent (LOI) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the container facility in Kolkata's Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, reports said.

Kolkata: Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP), Kolkata achieved an all-time high cargo handling with 65.66 million tonnes (MT) of shipments in 2022-23, recording a 12.87 percent high from the previous mark of 58.175 million tones in 2021-22, company chairman PL Haranath said on Tuesday.

Kolkata: Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port has appointed a consultant to conduct a feasibility study for building a tunnel under the Hooghly river to facilitate hassle-free container truck movement between Kidderpore to Howrah, the port's Chairman Vinit Kumar said Wednesday.
