Cyclone Fengal likely to hit Tamil Nadu tomorrow, warning issued

Chennai/IBNS: A deep depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal, which has intensified into a cyclone named Fengal and is likely to cross the Tamil Nadu coast between Karaikal and Mamallapuram on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department said this evening.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said a low-pressure system has developed in the Bay of Bengal which is likely to transform into a cyclonic storm and move nearly northwards and reach Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts by May 26.

New Delhi, Oct 10 (IBNS) : The Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Titli’ over west central Bay of Bengal moved northwards with a speed of about 14 kmph during past 06 hours, and lay cantered at 0830 hrs on Wednesday over West central Bay of Bengal, about 320 km south-southeast of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 270 km southeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
