Introducing peanuts and eggs early can prevent food allergies in high risk infants: Study

London/IBNS: In a series of papers published today in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, researchers found that despite low adherence, early introduction to allergenic foods (those that may cause an allergic reaction), including egg and peanut, was found to be effective in preventing the development of food allergies in specific groups of infants.

New York, Aug 16 (IBNS): Babies’ brains do astonishing things during sleep. New research out of Leipzig at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI CBS) found that babies can associate meanings to words between six and eight months of age. This skill was previously only seen in older children and adults.

London, Mar 9 (IBNS): Babies in prams accompanying older siblings on the school run are twice as likely to be exposed to harmful air pollution in the morning than in the afternoon, a new study has found.
