Stark differences between females and males in major causes of disease burden, shows study

Globally, there are substantial differences between females and males (aged 10 and older) when it comes to health, with limited progress in bridging these health gaps over the past 30 years, according to a new study examining the disparities in the 20 leading causes of disease burden between females and males, across ages and regions, published in The Lancet Public Health journal.

Kolkata, June 8 (IBNS): Two years into their marriage, Debolina (29) and her husband Indranil (32) (names changed) decided to start a family. After six months of trying, the couple failed to conceive and were left dejected. They then turned to fertility specialists, who evaluated both of them and found that Debolina’s reports were normal. However, Indranil was found to have poor sperm parameters that caused infertility.
