ED slaps Rs 61.72 cr penalty on Amnesty International, its CEO Aakar Patel

New Delhi: The ED on Friday issued a show-cause notice to Amnesty India International Private Limited (AIIPL) and its CEO Aakar Patel for alleged contravention of the provisions of The Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA) and also slapped a penalty to the tune of Rs 51.72 crore and Rs 10 crore on them, respectively.
