World's highest rail bridge: Railway officials make crucial inspection on Chenab river

Indian railway officials conducted an inspection of the world's highest rail bridge built on the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the investment of Rs.4526.12 crore for 540 Megawatt (MW) Kwar Hydro Electric Project located on river Chenab, in Kishtwar district of Union Territory of Jammy and Kashmir.

Srinagar: The beginning of the construction of  a new concrete bridge over Chenab to replace the old bailey suspension bridge has been appreciated by locals  in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban, media reports said on Saturday.
