Former Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh gets SC relief from arrest

New Delhi/UNI: In a relief to former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, the Supreme Court on Monday granted him interim protection from arrest in six cases lodged against him for making sensational extortion charges against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh which amounted to Rs 100 crore.

Mumbai/IBNS: The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to carry out a preliminary probe into former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh's allegations against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh within 15 days, media reports said.
