'Erroneous measure of hunger': India rejects Global Hunger Index ranking

India has termed the latest Global Hunger Index report as an "erroneous measure of hunger" rejecting the methodology used to calculate the rankings after the country slipped to the 107th position out of 121 countries in 2022.

New Delhi: India has slipped to the 107th position in the Global Hunger Index 2022, even behind immediate neighbours like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, as per the website of Global Hunger Index which released the ranking on Saturday.

Guwahati, Oct 16 : After India’s dismal rank in the Global Hunger Index slipped to 102nd rank, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on Wednesday slammed Prime Minister Nardra Modi and said in Guwahati that poverty has increased but PM Narendra Modi is focusing only on corporate houses.
