New Delhi, Mar 28 (IBNS): Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, on Tuesday, inquired into the alleged abduction of a Canadian national in Odisha's Koraput district, according to media reports.

Maoist landmine blast: Six Odisha Police personnel killed in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1 (IBNS): At least six jawans of Odisha State Armed Police were killed and several were injured when the minibus in which they were travelling was flung off the road following a landmine blast, which was reportedly planted by Maoists, reports said.

Koraput: Lingering Threat

On December 22, 2016, Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres shot dead one person, identified as G. Appa Rao, at Munuguluwalsa village under the Pottangi Police limits in the Koraput District of Odisha. Appa Rao was the husband of the Naib Sarpanch (deputy head of the Panchayat, the village level local-self government institution) of Talagoluru. The Maoists also set ablaze two tractors and one van belonging to Apparao before leaving the spot.
