Railways bearing 85 pct of fares, states covering rest, clarifies Centre on row over migrants' homecoming

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid a row over the ticket prices of special trains ferrying the migrants back home from different cities, the Centre on Monday clarified that 85 per cent of the ticket fares are borne by the Indian Railways and the remaining 15 per cent has to be paid by the state. 

States ask for train services to ferry migrants amid Coronavirus lockdown

New Delhi/IBNS: With the centre allowing the movement of the stranded labourers amid the Coronavirus lockdown, the state government on Thursday asked that trains be made available to ferry back the migrants.
