No approval required to probe top officials over corruption: SC

New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS): The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ruled that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) can probe a corruption case against an officer of joint secretary-rank or above, scrapping the earlier legal provision which made sanction of competent authority mandatory for the investigating agency.
