Calcutta High Court rejects Bengal govt's plea against Visva-Bharati's fencing of Poush Mela ground

Kolkata/UNI: A two-judge bench of Calcutta High Court on Wednesday rejected an appeal of the state government seeking a stay on the fence erected by Visva-Bharati authorities around the Poush Mela ground.

Bolpur/IBNS: Objecting to the Visva Bharati University's decision to scrap 125-year-old iconic annual Poush Mela and erect boundary wall around the Mela ground, locals at a large number went into rampage at the university campus at Shantiniketan in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Monday.
