Bengaluru/IBNS: With pro-Kannada and farmers' organisations calling for a 'Karnataka Bandh' on Friday to protest the release of Cauvery river water to neighbouring Tamil Nadu, the administration in Bengaluru has declared a holiday in all schools and colleges in the city for the day.

Chennai, Nov 6 (IBNS) : Schools in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Puducherry and Thiruvalluvar remained shut  for the sixth day on Monday because of  late monsoon heavy downpour which has left 12 people dead and rendered thousands homeless over the past one week, reports said.
