Triple Talaq unconstitutional, illegal, says Supreme Court; asks Govt to frame law

New Delhi, Aug 22 (IBNS): In what is seen as a landmark victory for the Muslim women fighting to scrap the practice of triple talaq, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said the practice is unconstitutional and asked the government to legislate a law in Parliament.

Allahabad, Dec 8 (IBNS): The Allahabad High Court on Thursday said that personal law boards are not above the Constitution while ruling that triple talaq among Muslims is unconstitutional, according to media reports.
