Thousands marched the street in the last journey of former West Bengal Chief Minister and Marxist icon Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee from the party's headquarters Muzaffar Ahmad Bhawan to the NRS Medical College and Hospital on Friday. A sea of his followers and Communist leaders, workers and Left-leaning prominent personalities in Kolkata bade him an emotional farewell. Marxist icon Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee dies at age 80

Kolkata/IBNS: The body of former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday (Aug 8, 2024), was taken to Peace World mortuary as his tearful wife Meera Bhattacharjee and son Suchetan accompanied the hearse. He will be kept at CPI-M party headquarters at Alimuddin Street from 10:30 am on Friday for common people to pay their last respect.
