Inauguration of 27th KIFF

The inauguration of the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) was held at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata on Monday (Apr 25). The inauguration was held in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, veteran actor-MP Shatrughan Sinha, Tollywood superstars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dev among others. 

27th Kolkata International Film Festival to start from Jan 7

KIFF: Starry filmfest pays tribute to Suchitra Sen

A day after its inauguration in the presence of Bollywood stars, Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) witnessed a day of events and screening of films from across the word on Wednesday (Nov 11, 2014). The first day's highlights included opening of an exhibition on late screen goddess Suchitra Sen. Daughter Moon Moon Sen, actor and festival committee chairman Ranjit Mullick, painter Shuvaprasanna, who also is the Chairman of Exhibition Committee, were present at the opening of the show on Suchitra where several familiar and rare images of the enigmatic screen diva's life are displayed. A booklet on Sen was also released. Also spotted during the day was actress Tanuja- who had starred in many Bengali films- with her daughter Tanisha. Actor-filmmaker Amol Palekar, who is a member of the jury this year, was seen catching up on films. Long queues of cine lovers were also witnessed at the main Nandan complex which sported a carnival like look. Youngsters were seen crowding the complex to gaze at stars and capture them in images and selfies for their social media posts. Images by Avishek Mitra/IBNS
