Under 18 players from 21 countries to play in ITF tourney in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): Noted young players from 20 countries besides India will be seen in action at the ITF under-18 Junior Tennis Championship to be held at the red clay courts of Dakshin Kolikata Sangsad (DKS) here from January 20 to 26.

Maria Sharapova banned for two years

London, June 8 (IBNS) An Independent Tribunal appointed under Article 8.1 of the 2016 Tennis Anti-Doping Programme has found that Russian Tennis legend Maria Sharapova committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation under Article 2.1 of the Programme and as a consequence has disqualified the affected results and imposed a period of ineligibility of two years, commencing on Jan 26, 2016.
