Pakistan: FBR freezes PIA accounts over non-payment of taxes

Islamabad: All bank accounts of Pakistan national carrier  Pakistan International Airline (PIA) have been frozen by the country's Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) over non-payment of taxes, media reports said.

Islamabad/IBNS: Pakistan's tax chief has expressed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)'s inability to bring over four million willful law violators under the tax net due to the revenue authority’s lack of capacity, according to a report published in Pak daily The Express Tribune on Thursday.

Islamabad:  A Chinese company building a 720-megawatt hydropower generation complex on the Jhelum River has said it is now facing trouble  and delays in obtaining advance tax exemption orders at import stage from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for the last few months, media reports said.
