RailYatri.in launches 'Insights platform' for travelers in India

Kolkata, Mar 31 (IBNS): RailYatri.in today announced the launch of 'RailYatri Insights', a first of its kind Big Data and Discovery tool that will allow train passengers in India to derive answers to such questions.
The tool provides insights from train traveler data spread across hundreds of meta-data fields and behavioral information sources captured by RailYatri. 
 
For effective communication of information, RailYatri Insights also uses Google Maps so that train travelers can easily relate to data associated with their geography or cities.
 
The Insights tool is structured to provide quick turnarounds for complex train travel queries, enabling train travelers and travel businesses to drill deeply into travel patterns across all corners of India. 
 
“The number of decision criteria’s which every train traveler has to consider at various stages of the life cycle of the journey is simply mind-blowing and can drive up trip-related stress. RailYatri Insights is based on the data from more than 50 million travelers over the last few years across 8000 train stations and more than 2000 train routes.
Using RailYatri Insights, train travelers can see and drill into information associated with:
 
·         Top Travel Sections on a Train = Gives insights into between which two places are most travelers traveling to on the route of the train.
 
·         Popular destinations from a Station = Gives the tree map associated with the top 50 stations travelers travel to from any station in India.
 
·         Delay Index at a Station = Gives a good understanding of the delay patterns of a train at any station in India.
 
·         Network & Data Connectivity on a Train Route = Gives a map-based visualization of how network & data connectivity across different mobile operators is spread across the route of any train in India.
 
Over the next few months, RailYatri will also extend the Insights tool with additional visualizations which would mine additional travel-related behavior in India.
