6.1 earthquake hits Afghanistan, tremors felt in north India, no casualties
New Delhi, Jan 31 (IBNS) : A 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Afghanistan Kabul on Wednesday with the tremors felt across a large part of north India, reports said.
The quake hit at around 12.40 pm (0707 GMT) near Afghanistan's northern border with Tajikistan in the Hindukush mountains at a depth of 191 kilometres (119 miles), the US Geological Survey said.
However, there were no immediate reports of casualties.
In India, the tremor was felt in Delhi, Punjab,Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
