Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani wishes Narendra Modi over Lok Sabha polls victory

Kabul, May 23 (IBNS): Joining other global leaders, Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani on Thursday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his Bharatiya Janata Party registered a massive victory in the general polls.

Ghani said Afghanistan is looking forward to expand cooperation between the two nations.

"Congratulations to PM @narendramodi on a strong mandate from the people of India. The government and the people of Afghanistan look forward to expanding cooperation between our two democracies in pursuit of regional cooperation, peace and prosperity for all of South Asia," Ghani tweeted.

As per latest trends at 3. 35 pm, the BJP-led NDA is ahead in 343 seats.

The Congress-led UPA is leading in 93 seats.

Other parties are leading in 106 seats.
