Afghanistan: Taliban shadow district governor killed

Kabul, June 7 (IBNS) A shadow district governor of Taliban in Afghanistan's Paktika province has been killed by the security forces, media reports said on Sunday.

Nabiullah Peerkhil, spokesman for the governor of Paktika told Khaama Press that Ajab Khan alias Bilal who was Taliban’s governor for Mata Khan District was killed during a military operation on Saturday morning.

He said the operation was carried out jointly by the Afghan National Army and the Afghan National Police.

According to reports, the operation was carried out in Landizo area of Mata Khan district.

During the operation, security forces have not suffered any casualties, reports said.
