Astronomer HR Head Kristin Cabot resigns days after Coldplay's 'kiss cam' row

American tech firm Astronomer's Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, who was caught on Coldplay's 'kiss cam' embracing the company's former CEO, Andy Byron, has quit, media reports said.

Kristin Cabot is no longer working for Astronomer, the firm told the BBC in a statement.

She resigned just days after Byron quit the firm following the disclosure of his relationship with the HR Head.

Following Cabot's exit,  the company said that the Board of Directors has accepted his resignation.

"As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO," the company said.

Astronomer also assured that while their awareness may have changed overnight, their product and work for customers have not.

"Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not. We're continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems," it said.

This comes after Astronomer has sent Andy Byron on leave and replaced him with co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy as an interim after the former's "affair" was exposed and made headlines.

The company said the Board of Directors has launched a probe into the "affair", which was exposed when Andy and Kristin were caught embracing each other while listening to the rock band that was performing in Boston, Massachusetts.

Astronomer issued a statement that reads, "Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave. We will share more details as appropriate in the coming days."

As their intimacy was captured on the kiss cam, Andy and Kristin looked uncomfortable and they soon drifted away to hide their faces.

Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin reacted to the moment saying, "Oh look at these two... either they are having an affair or they're very shy."

The video, which went viral on social media, has not just impacted these two but also Andy Byron's wife, Megan Kerrigan, and his two children.

In a separate post, Astronomer wrote, "Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.

"The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly. Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect."
