Bangladesh: Village doctor hacked to death, ISIS shoulders responsibility

Kushtia, May 21 (IBNS) A village doctor in Bangladesh's Kushtia district was hacked to death on Friday by machete wielding assailants, according to media reports.

The deceased has been identified as Sanaur Rahman, a 60-year-old man, who died minutes after the attack, The Daily Star reported.

The assailants also injured another 42-year-old, Saifuzzaman, an assistant professor of Bangla, plying his trade at the Islamic University in Kushtia.

According to US based intelligence agency SITE, the attack was carried by IS.

A Buddhist monk was killed in a similar fashion, a week ago in Bangladesh.

In recent months, several other murders of activists and bloggers were also widely reported.
