B.C. Wildfire continues, forces local people to flee
According to the latest report, a moving fire near the Monte Lake, east of Kamloops forced more evacuations recently.
On Wednesday night, two evacuation orders were passed in the area closer to the Monte Lake, that covers 60 houses.
A local emergency was also called in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.
Though the wildfire along the Highway 97 had grown to 150 hectares on Wednesday, it calmed down since Thursday.
The Wildfire Service said they are preparing for few busy days ahead as they expect some new fires to occur.
Weather might not be ideal for the situation to come under control.
On July 7, the disaster occurred when lightening storm made the fire spread rapidly in the Interior of B.C. An emergency was called immediately after the wildfire.
Till July 13, the number of people forced to evacuate their places were 14000, which increased to 30,000 by July 18.
Reports suggested that around 10000 people were forced to go out of Williams Lake, the largest city in the Central Interior of British Columbia, which was under a high alert.
