Toronto, Sep 19 (IBNS): The Minister of Innovation Science, and Economic Development, Navdeep Bains, took time out to meet and greet the people of his constituency to learn about their local issues and problems. The event took place at Mississauga’s Versailles Convention Center.

“It is a very informal social event where the minister would be greeting people from his constituency, the general public,” explained Neeraj Bhalla, Constituency Assistant of Minister Navdeep Bains.

More than 500 people gathered together to meet the ace minister and discuss their issues in person. People from various walks of life made their way to speak to their minister.

35 year-old Susan Blank says, “It was like an elevator pitch moment for me. You only got 30 seconds to pitch with him whatever you wish to discuss.” She further adds, “I was just blown away by his hospitality. He was so nice and gentle to talk to and greeted everyone so warmly.”

She only regrets, “I wish I got a little more time to talk to him. But there were many like me queuing for their turn. ”

85 year-old Harmeet Bawja, who is in Canada for over 17 years now, says, “His hospitable nature is really mind-blowing. My children never made me feel so comfortable ever.” He further goes on saying, “He listened to my proposal very calmly and told me not to worry as together we will work out something soon.”

"It was a remarkable day for me," says Dorothy Parker, a fashion designer by profession. She says, "I not only got a chance to pitch before the bright Minister about my new project but also got a selfie and a photo clicked with him."

Present in the occasion were other eminent guests like Linda Jeffrey, Mayor of Brampton, Bonnie Crombie, Mayor of Mississauga and eminent people from the Labour party.

The meet and talk session conducted by the Liberal party  was a great hit among the people, who came from Mississauga, Brampton as well as from other parts of Toronto. Apart from talks there was sumptuous Indian snacks and beverages to please one and all.
