Canada: Patrick Brown sues CTV News over misreporting of sexual offences

Ottawa, Apr 24 (IBNS): Former Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown has filed a defamation lawsuit against CTV News over an alleged misreporting on sexual accusations brought against him, media reports said.

In a statement, Brown said CTV News failed to verify and scrutinise the allegations.

He had resigned as the Ontario PC leader after the allegations brought against him. However, later he joined the leadership race of his party.

The allegations of sexual harassment were brought by two women in an interview with CTV News.

Both the women alleged that Brown had ill-treated them.

One of the two women alleged that Brown had asked her to perform an oral sex which she did for sometime.

However, Brown denied all the allegations which were brought against him.  He said he has resigned after consultations with family, friends and caucus members.
