Toronto, May 18 (IBNS): Canada Post’s fifth of 10 commemorative stamps was unveiled on Tuesday in Regina by country music star Dean Brody to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada's Confederation, media reports said.

The new stamp, unveiled by award-winning country music star Dean Brody, focuses on the Trans-Canada Highway, which runs through all of Canada's provinces, CBC News reports said.

"It's not just a highway, it's the stories that the highway allows for Canadians. If you're coming into Regina, you're on the Trans-Canada Highway. That's the road you're going to take in, going to take out. It's incredibly important not just for business coming in, but business going out." said Jon Hamilton, general manager of communications for Canada Post, CBC News reports said.

Canada Post Magazine wrote: "The Trans-Canada Highway is an 8,000-kilometre ribbon of asphalt that links Canada physically, culturally and symbolically. It’s also a vital economic artery for the Canadian economy. Stretching from Victoria, B.C. to St. John’s, N.L., the Trans-Canada has been a highway of adventure, dreams and possibilities for generations of Canadians who’ve travelled it by car, transport truck, bicycle or on foot."

Then Prime Minister John Diefenbaker had officially opened the highway in 1962 at Rogers Pass, B.C. and said,  “This highway, may it serve to bring Canadians closer together. May it bring to all Canadians a renewed determination to individually do their part to make this nation greater and greater still."

Each stamp had been reported to be unveiled in a related location.

The first stamp was unveiled in Montreal by  architect Moshe Safdie to commemorate the Expo 67.

According to reports, next stamp is expected to be unveiled in St. John's on May 2

The last stamp in the series is reported to be unveiled in June 1.
