Ottawa, Oct 7 (IBNS): A 19-year old Canadian teen, who had pleaded guilty of plotting a terror attack targeting New York, will be sentenced in December this year, media reports said.

Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy was charged after he pleaded for being involved in plotting of a 2016 terror attack, targeting New York.

The charges against Bahnasawy have been made public by Canada on Friday.

The U.S. Attorney's Office revealed the entire details of the terror attack plan that had an alleged effort to detonate bombs in Times Square and the New York subway system.

Plans were also made to attack some concert venues, reports said.

The sealed information also stated that the accused had bought the bomb-making materials and manged to get a room closer to the city to build explosives.

Apart from Bahnasawy, Talha Haroon and Russell Salic, were also charged over the same allegations.

While Haroon is a 19-year old US citizen living in Pakistan, Salic (37) is from Phillippine.

Both were arrested outside the US. They are likely to be extradited to the US for prosecution.

While interacting with CBC News, El Bahnasawy's lawyer Sabrina Shroff kept on stressing on his client's age and said he was "vulnerable".

Shroff told CBC News: "It's a very difficult situation undoubtedly — not just for him but also for his entire family."

Reports said that Bahnasawy along with Haroon, went the New York city in May. 2016, to carry out the preparation for the alleged attack.

When asked about whether Bahnasawy will appeal or not, Shroff said: "In every terrorism case in which the United States plays some role, there's always a concern about the length an undercover [agent] will go."
