Challenge China's bullying: Kamala Harris tells international community

| @indiablooms | Aug 26, 2021, at 11:07 pm

Hanoi: US Vice President Kamala Harris has asked Vietnamese authorities that there is a need to put pressure on Beijing on its actions in the South China Sea.

She is currently visiting Vietnam.

Incidentally, Vietnam is a vocal opponent of China’s vast territorial claims in the strategic waterway.

“We need to find ways to pressure and raise the pressure, frankly, on Beijing to abide by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and to challenge its bullying and excessive maritime claims,” Harris was quoted as saying by CNBC.

China and the US have been engaged in a bitter battle over numerous issues including the origin of COVID-19 in recent times.
