FBI to probe Roy's murder

Dhaka, Mar 1 (IBNS): The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the US is all set to investigate the murder case of writer Avijit Roy, media reports said on Sunday.

"Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali told some Dhaka-based diplomats including Americans on Sunday that his government had accepted the US offerof sending the FBI to help the enquiry," bdnews24.com.

The Bangladesh police have so far failed to catch those who  killed the writer.

Roy was hacked to death by unidentified  assailants  on Dhaka University campus last Thursday night.

“Two committees have been formed to assist the investigation of negligence and murder,” a senior police official told bdnews24.com.

Roy's body was donated the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on Sunday.

People across Bangladesh have protested against the murder of the Bangladeshi-American blog writer.

On Sunday,  Kolkata witnessed a protest as people from different sections of the society demonstrated against the killing of the writer in the east Indian city.
