France observes a minute of silence to mourn Paris attacks

Paris, Nov 16 (IBNS): France on Monday noon fell silent nationwide to mourn for the victims of the deadly Paris attacks that left about 129 people killed on Friday.
France's observation of a minute's silence at midday was treated with respect across all member states of the European Union.

"In the United States, the Stars and Stripes will fly at half-mast at the White House until sunset Thursday," France 24 reported.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to retaliate, French warplanes pounded Islamic State's Syrian stronghold Sunday.

"The raid destroyed an IS command post, a recruitment centre, a munitions depot and a 'terrorist' training camp in Raqa," France 24 quoted the country's defence ministry as saying said.

On Monday, authorities have conducted more than 150 raids on militant targets in different areas of France.

Two more attackers , who had carried out the attack in Paris last week and left about 129 people dead, have been named as well as five already identified.

"Five were identified over the weekend. On Monday another two were named by the Paris prosecutor as Ahmad al-Mohammad and Samy Amimour," BBC reported.
