France: Shooting in Strasbourg Christmas market kills 3, gunman at large

Paris, Dec 12 (IBNS): At least three people were during a shooting in eastern France's Strasbourg city on Wednesday, media reports said.

The incident left 12 others hurt.

The gunman is currently on the run.

Security forces are trying to nab him.

Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said 350 security agents are currently hunting to nab the gunman.

"350 police and police officers are currently on the ground to apprehend the suspect, supported by 2 helicopters, the RAID, the BIS and the Sentinel force.#Strasbourg," read a post on his official Twitter page.

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his solidarity with the nation.

"Solidarity of the whole Nation for Strasbourg, our victims and their families," Macron posted on Twitter.

The incident reportedly occurred close to a Christmas market in the city.

Security has been beefed up across all Christmas markets in the country following the attack.
