Iran says to file legal action against US over drone issue

Tehran, Jun 23 (Xinhua/UNI) Iran will take legal action against the United States for "violating the country's airspace" by its drone, Tasnim news agency quoted an Iranian presidential official as saying on Sunday.

Iran will not tolerate any violation of its aerial, land or maritime borders, said Laya Joneidi, vice president for legal affairs in the administration of President Hassan Rouhani.

Tehran will take judicial measures concerning the US move in deploying a "spy drone into Iranian airspace as a violation of the international law," said Joneidi.

On Thursday, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) downed a U.S. "spy" drone in Iran's southern Hormozgan province.

IRGC claimed that the aircraft had violated Iran's air space, which the United States denied.
