Israel-Hamas war: Death toll in West Bank rises to 103, says Palestinian Health Ministry

Gaza/IBNS/UNI: The death toll in the West Bank has risen to 103 since the latest armed conflict between Israel and Hamas broke out on October 7, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Earlier reports indicated the death toll in the West Bank stood at 95.

"One hundred and three deaths in the West Bank since October 7, including two in Israeli occupation prisons," the ministry said in a statement.

The tensions between Palestinians and Israel have escalated after Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7 and breached the border, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities.

Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than two million people, cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel.

The blockade was later eased to allow trucks with international humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip through Egypt.

The escalation of the conflict has resulted in thousands of people killed and injured on both sides.
