Kim, Trump agree in Hanoi to meet again in future, continue dialogue: Reports
Moscow, March 1 (Sputnik) North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump agreed during their bilateral summit, which finished in Hanoi on Thursday, to meet again and continue their productive dialogue in order to achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and improve relations between Washington and Pyongyang, local media reported on Friday.
The two leaders considered their second summit as an important chance to increase their trust and bring their relations to a new level, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing a message carried by North Korea’s official KCNA news outlet.
However, KCNA had not mentioned the fact that the summit had abruptly come to its end and no agreement or declaration had been adopted on its results, Yonhap noted.
Notably, the White House also said after the talks that Trump's administration would continue the conversations with Kim.
The summit between Kim and Trump took place in the Vietnamese capital on Wednesday and Thursday. Though the two leaders repeatedly said they expected the talks to bring good results, the sides failed to agree on concessions each of them was ready to make in order to reach a deal.
At their first summit in Singapore last June, Trump and Kim expressed their commitment for denuclearization.
