Middle East tension: Several US warplanes crash in Kuwait, says Defence Ministry

Kuwait’s Defence Ministry on Monday confirmed that several American fighter jets crashed in the country amid rising tensions across the Middle East. A ministry spokesperson, posting on the official X page, said all crew members survived and were immediately evacuated for medical evaluation and treatment.

“Their condition is stable,” the post added. Authorities have launched search and rescue operations and are coordinating directly with US forces, implementing joint technical procedures to determine the cause of the crashes. Investigations are ongoing.

Earlier, Iran’s IRNA news agency cited local sources reporting that a US F-15 fighter jet was shot down over Kuwait on Monday morning.

The US has not yet commented on the incident.

Meanwhile, social media reports circulated claiming that thick smoke was seen at the US Embassy in Kuwait amid Iranian strikes.

The Embassy, however, did not report any damage.

Earlier, it had warned of ongoing threats from missile and UAV attacks, urging citizens to shelter in place: “Do not come to the Embassy. Take cover in your residence on the lowest available floor and away from windows. U.S. Embassy personnel are sheltering in place.”

The escalation follows Israeli and US strikes in Iran that reportedly killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran launched attacks across multiple cities in the Middle East, including the UAE and Qatar, further heightening regional tensions.
