My life is in danger: Pakistan PM Imran Khan ahead of no-confidence motion

Islamabad/IBNS: Ahead of the no-confidence motion against him, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that his life is in danger.

The premier said that he is aware of the conspiracy to assassinate him since August 2021, Geo News reported.

Pakistan's security agencies had earlier revealed that they have uncovered a plot against Khan, adding that attempts to assassinate him were being planned.

Following the news, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that in line with the decision of the government, the premier's security has been tightened.

Taking to Twitter, the minister wrote: "Security agencies have reported that a plan to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan has surfaced. After these reports, the security of the prime minister has been increased as per the government's decision."

PTI leader Faisal Vawda had also claimed that PM Imran Khan's life is in danger and a plan was being made to take his life.

"A plot is being hatched to assassinate Prime Minister Imran Khan as political tensions rise in the country,” the former federal minister said Wednesday to a private television channel.

Imran Khan virtually lost the majority in the 342-member National Assembly after the defection of two key allies.

In an address to the nation on Thursday, Khan, who is on the verge of losing his post after failing to prove a majority in the assembly, alleged that "three stooges" working with foreign powers want to oust him of power.

He had also vowed to fight till the end, saying: "Allah has given my strength to fight and I will. I have come here after a lot of struggle."

"They want Imran Khan to be ousted and want this certain person to take this place and everything will be fine then. But do you want someone charged with fraud to lead you?" Khan said.

"If you think that your conspiracy will be successful, I want to tell you, I will fight with this. They can't do anything. I bear my own expenses, I live in my own houses, I don't have any factories," he said.
