Ontario passes an emergency order allowing school staff to work in hospitals
Toronto, May 9 (Canadian-Media): Owing to the shortage of staff in many congregate care settings, the government of Ontario issued an emergency order to allow school board employees to be voluntarily redeployed to hospitals, long-term care homes, retirement homes, and women's shelters during the COVID-19 pandemic, media reports said.
In a statement on Saturday amid Covid-19, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he encourages educational workers to help out if possible as it would make a real difference in the lives of those in most need.
In an effort to keep child-care centers afloat, the government also announced to help cover their operating costs and waive licensing fees during the closures, Child-care providers are currently banned from charging parents if they are shut down.
