Pakistan: Islamabad shopping mall fire brought under control
The fire, which broke out at Islamabad's Centaurus Mall in Pakistan, has been brought under control, media reports said.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Usman Younis told Dawn News the fire brigade, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and Rescue 1122 took part in the firefighting operation.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon told the newspaper the mall and its allied residential towers were now being sealed till a technical team reported on their structural capability after the fire.
The city police chief, senior police officers, administration officials and rescue teams were present at the scene when the rescue operation took place.

Reacting to the incident, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif tweeted as quoted by Dawn News: "It is very unfortunate that this incident happened in this well-known business centre. I pray that there is no loss of life. Condolences and sympathies for the financial losses of the victims.”
