Kuwait is committed to stronger bilateral ties with Pakistan, said Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah who was on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. During his visit, two countries discussed cooperation in fields of education, trade and investment, and people-to-people contacts.

The visiting minister also stressed strengthening the institutional frameworks of the two countries for better cooperation.

In his discussion with the minister, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan hailed efforts for building an enhanced partnership between the two countries. He underscored the imperative of forging deeper economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also held meetings with his Kuwaiti counterpart and reviewed the entire gamut of the bilateral relationships.

“We are bounded by faith and value, and our close collaboration deepened during the Covid-19 on health and food security,” Qureshi said in a tweet. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening and diversifying bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Earlier, Pakistan Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had announced that Kuwait would soon start issuing work visas to Pakistan, which has remained suspended since 2011. The move, Qureshi said, would give the much-needed impetus to bilateral trade and business.
